Rothbury boss Danny Olson will announce an
exciting new development from the club in the New Year.
The Reds’ management team and officials are
working on bringing some more benefit to Coquetdale’s youngsters through the
sport, and the full details are eagerly awaited as plans are worked out.
“The club are looking up rather than down
now. We all move forward together and the club will soon be in a position to
offer more to the youth community of Rothbury. More details will follow,” said
Olson.
Despite the disrupted stop-start nature of
Olson and assistant Rob Marshall’s tenure at Armstrong Park, the side sit in
seventh spot in the Northern Alliance First Division and are ambitious for the
future.
“Well, as the year comes to an end, I think
we can safely see it’s been a strange one,” said Olson.
“On the playing side we are probably a
little ahead of where we thought we would be. We have coped well with things on
and off the field with Covid-19 and the progression is there to see. The squad
will be strengthened in the summer and we hope for a less complicated year.
Overall, we are happy with the progress”
Rothbury are back in action at Armstrong
Park on Saturday 9th January 2021 when they take on third-placed Cramlington
United with a 2pm kick-off – weather and Covid restrictions permitting.
