ROTHBURY HOPE TO AVOID DOWNPOURS FOR SPARTANS VISIT

Rothbury v. Blyth Spartans Reserves
Northern Football Alliance Division One
Saturday 29th February 2020, kick-off 2pm.

Reds boss Dan Herron is hoping that the predicted storms bypass Coquetdale as his side are hungry to get back into action after a two-week lay off due to the weather.
And with the famous green and white shirts of Blyth Spartans making their first trip to Armstrong Park there’s an added attraction for fans making their way down to the ground.
“Missing two weeks in a row is poor but three would be a real struggle,” admitted the gaffer, who will be watching the forecasts with interest this evening.
“To be honest we’ve been quite unlucky anyway - we’ve had strong squads for both games that were called off, which is frustrating when we’ve struggled for two months before that!”
Herron is again confident that the Reds will have a very competitive squad to select from for the visit of 6th placed Spartans Reserves, with the Reds sliding down to 12th following Hexham’s 3-1 win at Wallsend Boys Club last weekend.
“We’ll have a healthy squad tomorrow with a rest from injury and Joel Lavier’s ban being finished – we’re definitely hoping to build on the game against Whitburn where we should really have got a point if not all three,” he said.
Watch out for any match information updates on the club’s social media channels in the morning.
