TICKET TOUTS LOOK TO CASH IN ON SAINTS TRIP

Willington Quay Saints v Rothbury
Northern Football Alliance
Team Valley Carpets Division Two
Saturday 30/03/19 Kick-off 2.30pm

It’s being billed as a sell-out on social media as leaders Rothbury make the trip to fourth-placed Saints’ Rising Sun Welfare ground.
And at The Northern we have a handful of hooky knock-offs available for any fans that have missed out on the allocation. Cash only. Got them off a player. My mate's his electrician. Nah nix, say nowt. *winks*

While manager Dan Herron can enjoy a laugh along with the good-natured banter in the big-game build-up, he’ll be deadly serious on the day, not least due to devastating events in the village this week, as the Red’s find themselves just seven games from taking the Division Two title at the first attempt – or less if results go their way.
Herron is well aware that the trip to Willington Quay will be another tough ask. Robert Forman’s side have won three on the bounce and are enjoying their best season in the Alliance to date as they push hard for a promotion spot.
So Saints won’t be taking their foot off the gas and the Coquetdalers will have to be at their best to take anything from the match.
"We all know it’s a big game for us, given where we are in the table, every game is going to be like a cup final for us," said Herron.
"The last three games we’ve been tremendous and the lads have delivered exactly what we’ve asked. We’re hoping for consistency and determination. We know this game won’t be an easy one for many different reasons. Willington Quay gave us a great test at Armstrong from their organisation, and a late bit of Al Laviers magic managed to get us a point. So we know they will be hard to break down in that respect."
"Also it’s going to be a very emotional and tough week for all connected with Rothbury Football Club given the tragic loss of our dear friend Tom Sutton. We’re hoping the lads can dig deep and dedicate a result to him, any which way the game goes Tom and all his family will be in our thoughts. We hope to see a few away fans there to give the boys the backing they deserve for the tremendous effort so far, and what is sure to be a difficult 90 minutes."
