ROTHBURY BACK AT ARMSTRONG PARK AFTER TWO WEEK BREAK

Rothbury v. Gateshead Redheugh 1957
Northern Football Alliance
Team Valley Carpets Division Two
Saturday 16th February 2019, kick-off 2pm.

MATCH SPONSOR: James Gutherson, JWG COACHES, THROPTON.

Rothbury gaffer Dan Herron put the players through their paces at training last night as the Reds look to come back strongly after a two-week lay-off.
The Coquetdalers are in second spot, just a point behind leaders Whitley Bay SC, who have now played three games more.
Redheugh make the journey up the A697 for the first time on the back of a narrow 4-3 defeat at Whitley Bay last weekend and Herron is expecting yet another tough game.
“We’re definitely looking forward to getting a game in,” he said.
“Two weeks off wasn’t ideal but hopefully the lads should get straight back into it on home soil.”
The Reds are injury and suspension free and Herron is optimistic that he will have a large squad to select fro.
“We’re hoping to be back to full strength, which is something we haven’t had for a few games now,” he said.
Rothbury’s players were away at Tony Brown’s Stag Do last Saturday and the manager hopes that they can put on a performance for the anticipated large crowd.
“We’re expecting a few down to cheer the lads on, and they thrive off it. Hopefully they’ll have blown the cobwebs from Blackpool out at training.”
